Age Concern Isle of Man rocks
25 May 2010
Posh frocks and very serious rocks took bling and buy to another level when Age Concern Isle of Man held a James Bond-themed Diamonds Are Forever fundraising evening at the Swiss Chalet restaurant in Glen Helen. The sun shone almost as brightly as the diamonds in the brilliant-cut bracelet valued at £45,000 displayed by Wilkins Jewellers. For £1 minimum guests had to guess how many carats the bracelet weighed, under the watchful eye of Wilkins’ Neil Dunwell who also provided the prizes, a Gucci bracelet and a set of Gucci cufflinks. Raffle prizes were provided by Wilkins Jewellers, Amber restaurant, the Swiss Chalet and Cosmetic Nursing. Entertainment was by Search for a Star finalists Jodie Teare and Kelly Lawson, while Steve Pickett, Trade Distribution’s managing director, revved the James Bond theme up several gears by bringing his Aston Martin V8 Vantage to create a potent mix of speed and sparkle for this glamorous high-octane event that raised £1741.35 for Age Concern Isle of Man.
