We’ve got winter wrapped up!
12 March 2010
The team at Age Concern Isle of Man have got coping with cold weather all wrapped up. Thanks to the charity securing an Age Concern UK winter warmth grant it has been able to purchase a stock of ‘winter warmer’ equipment - heaters, throws and hot water bottles – for distribution among its five day care centres as emergency heating aids for its more vulnerable clients. Age Concern Isle of Man chief executive Penny Creighton MBE said: ‘January’s severe cold snap may be a distant memory to some, but not to the more vulnerable members of the community. We’re at the tail end of winter and severe cold weather could still strike at any time. Thanks to this grant and support from local retailers Age Concern Isle of Man is well placed to help those most in need of extra warmth, whatever the season.’
